New name for our new edition.
What are ‘mobile apps for employee experience’?
Digital workplaces can be vast, made up of a variety of digital tools, but employee mobile apps enable frontline workers to do what they really need to from one place. With the prevalence of hybrid working, those who were labelled ‘desk-based users’ are also finding benefits associated with mobile-first technology. Our report focusses more on frontline workers though, as they have distinct needs that businesses can find challenging to address.
Dedicated employee mobile app solutions provide a light and lean approach to functionality. Frontline workers have busy jobs that are focussed on certain tasks, so want to find relevant information quickly, which a lighter approach suits well. Each product offers its own unique areas of focus (communication, operations, HR and people, and digital workplace hub) and a feature in one can behave very differently to another app product. Our report helps guide you through the options, giving you support with choosing the correct solution for your business.
How the report will help you
We’ve been reviewing intranet products since 2016 and launched the first edition of our Employee Apps Report in 2020. In each report we’ve taken market leaders through their paces and helped readers make the right choices for their businesses. We’ve taken that experience, and the experience of working with scores of clients on their digital workplace projects, to create this new report that assesses some of the best mobile-first products on the market.
Each vendor demonstrated to us how their product fulfils certain business scenarios. This is more than a list of features and functions; our scenarios are real-life business situations that products should meet head-on (such as internal communication needs, information finding, and general user experience). We identified these scenarios after months of research into the products on the market, user needs, and business requirements. The scenarios are outlined in the introduction and our reviewers used the framework to form each review.
We believe that our report will give you the foundation information you need before you consider the right approach for your organisation. This will save you weeks of research time, as well as provide information you simply can’t get from vendors’ websites, giving you the confidence to make the right decisions about these products.
