Intranet Advent Day 6 – Governance should be positive, and not overwhelming
We’re counting down to Christmas with a stocking-filler tip every day.
Intranet governance is:
“The processes and politics of managing and improving the intranet, and ensuring it supports business goals.”
Where by ‘politics’ we simply means how people get things done together.
That’s it. The steering committee, the permission levels, the contribution policy (no swearing!), are all just about getting on with things. Rather than write a comprehensive tome covering hundreds of ‘thou shalt nots’, it’s better to have a few positive guiding principles and examples of what can be achieved on the intranet.
@sammarshall “you only need a 100 page governance document if you plan on hitting someone with it” #intranetnow

Intranet governance should be about what you can do.
Is *this* the sort of Christmas party you’d want to attend? http://t.co/MG0izj1krn (Tough, it’s mandatory.) #intranetadvent
