What people want from SharePoint and what in-a-box products add [podcast]

Hyperfish podcast

What people want from SharePoint and what in-a-box products add [podcast]

Jeremy Thake of Hyperfish and our Sam Marshall discuss the evolution of SharePoint  intranets, their usefulness, and the extra value that comes from in-a-box intranet products.

SharePoint has a reputation for being clunky; when IT ‘suggests’ to the business that they can roll out an intranet on SharePoint, the Comms Team’s hearts collectively sink. SharePoint Online, part of Office 365 is lighter and brighter, but isn’t a fully-featured intranet. Add an intranet product to the mix, for SharePoint Online and for on-premises, and you get a better user experience and additional functionality.

Around 70% of ClearBox’s clients use SharePoint, or are moving to Office 365, so we’ve developed our understanding of Microsoft’s services, and our intranets in-a-box report assesses 34 intranet products for SharePoint / Office 365. Microsoft is keen to get every organisation on to the cloud, and product vendors love this, but there are some organisations that, owing to regulation, feel they have to use solutions on premises.

Jeremy Thake and Hyperfish are well connected with Microsoft’s product roadmap. Play the podcast to hear a lively discussion about how intranets and the digital workplace are developing in the Microsoft world.
