How the report will help you 

2025 marks ten years of ClearBox reviews of the best solutions in the industry. We launched the first edition of our Intranets and Employee Experience Platforms report in 2022, and each time we’ve taken market leaders through their paces and helped readers make the right choices for their businesses. We’ve taken all that experience, and the knowledge gained from working with scores of clients on their digital workplace projects, to create this new report that assesses some of the best products on the market.  

The 34 vendors to feature in the 2025 report.

Each vendor demonstrated to us how their software fulfils certain business scenarios. This is more than a list of features and functions: our scenarios are real-life business situations that products should meet head-on (such as internal communication needs, information finding, and general user experience). We identified these scenarios after months of research into the products on the market, user needs, and business requirements. The scenarios are outlined in the report and our reviewers used the framework to form each review.  

We believe that our report will give you the foundation information you need before you consider the right approach for your organisation. This will save you weeks of research, as well as provide information you simply can’t get from vendors’ websites, giving you the confidence to make the right decisions.

• You guessed it – AI! We’ve seen even more AI capabilities added to products in the past year, many of which are genuinely useful. 
• In early 2024 Meta announced they would be sunsetting their Workplace platform, which has triggered an expansion of social and other fun engagement features. 
• There’s been gradual improvement in the experience for administrators, but there’s still plenty of room to make it fully engaging and effective. 
• Internal Communicators are front and centre of many products now, so we’re seeing a bunch of innovative capabilities being introduced.

What’s changed from V3 in 2024 

Thousands of you downloaded the 2024 edition (thank you for your support!) and you will find that the 2025 edition has been entirely updated. We conducted reader research again and tweaked our scenarios to reflect that feedback, along with our latest client research. We’ve also introduced a few new products this time too, both as full reviews with scores and as ‘product overview’ reviews.

If you downloaded the 2024 edition I’d strongly encourage you to download this new edition so that you can read the most up-to-date information possible about the market. I think this is our best edition yet!
